Your Itinerary

Stop 1:  Meeting & Entry: Meet your guide at Via Tunisi 8 and head to the entrance for a quick security check. With skip-the-line tickets, you’ll bypass the queues and begin your fully guided tour. Your expert will lead you through the Pinecone Courtyard and the Pio-Clementine Museum (home to the Laocoön and Apollo Belvedere), providing in-depth stories as you walk through the stunning Galleries of the Candelabra, Tapestries, and Maps.
Stop 2:  The Sistine Chapel: Experience the ultimate highlight of the tour as you stand beneath Michelangelo’s breathtaking frescoes. Your guide will explain the fascinating history and hidden details behind the Creation of Adam and the awe-inspiring Last Judgment, bringing these world-renowned masterpieces to life.
Stop 3: St. Peter’s Basilica: Conclude your journey inside the heart of Vatican City. Your guided exploration continues through the Basilica, where you will discover the timeless beauty of Michelangelo’s Pietà and the grandeur of Bernini’s baldachin, along with many other sacred artistic treasures.

Mobility & Accessibility

For Wheelchair Users:
If a member of your group uses a wheelchair or requires one due to the extensive length of the Vatican Museums (approximately four miles), please inform us at the time of booking. In these cases, your guide will follow a specially designed wheelchair-accessible itinerary to ensure a comfortable experience.§
Please note that when following the accessible route, St. Peter’s Basilica cannot be included in the tour. This is due to the architectural layout of the complex: the direct passage leading from the Sistine Chapel to the Basilica involves a steep flight of stairs that does not have an elevator or a separate wheelchair-accessible entrance.
Consequently, the tour will continue by retracing the accessible galleries, allowing you to discover additional sections of the Vatican Museums, and will conclude at the main museum exit near the original entry point. This ensures the safety and comfort of all guests while maintaining the quality of the guided experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our private Vatican tour includes skip-the-line tickets, a licensed expert guide, and a personalized 2.5–3 hour itinerary through the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. The tour concludes inside St. Peter’s Basilica (except in the case of wheelchair-accessible itineraries).

Unless otherwise arranged, your guide will meet you just outside the Hotel Museum on Via Tunisi, 8, near the entrance to the Vatican Museums. Exact meeting point and instructions will be provided in your confirmation email.

Yes! While there’s a standard route through the Vatican Museums, your guide can adjust the focus of the visit based on your interests whether you’re passionate about Renaissance art, ancient sculpture, or religious history. Yes! While there’s a standard route through the Vatican Museums, your guide can adjust the focus of the visit based on your interests whether you’re passionate about Renaissance art, ancient sculpture, or religious history. When booking the tour, just let us know your preferences by email.

If your group includes a person with a disability who uses a wheelchair or requires one, please let us know during the booking process so we can organize the appropriate itinerary and services. The Vatican Museums offers a dedicated wheelchair-accessible route that includes both the Museums and the Sistine Chapel. However, St. Peter’s Basilica is not accessible via this internal route, as the only passage from the Sistine Chapel to the Basilica involves stairs and is therefore not suitable for wheelchairs. Wheelchair rental is available and can be arranged during booking.

For groups larger than three people with a disabled member, the tour will be divided after entering the Vatican Museums. The main part of the group will continue with the licensed guide along the standard itinerary, which ends inside St. Peter’s Basilica. The guest in a wheelchair, along with a qualified assistant provided by us (available at an additional cost), will follow the accessible itinerary, which concludes at the exit of the Museums.

If the guest in a wheelchair would like to visit St. Peter’s Basilica, we will arrange a private transfer (at an additional cost) from the Vatican Museums to St. Peter’s Square, where they will rejoin the rest of the group and the guide at a designated meeting point near the Basilica. Our team will take care of the logistics to ensure everything runs smoothly — there’s no need to worry about coordinating this yourself.

Please note: The Vatican Museums require that the guest present a valid disability certificate in order to access the official accessible route. This certificate must be submitted at the time of booking.

Be sure to inform your travel agent of these details when reserving your tour, so we can guarantee a seamless and enjoyable experience for everyone in your group.

To enter the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica, a strict dress code is enforced. Shoulders and knees must be covered for both men and women. Sleeveless tops, shorts, mini skirts, hats, and see-through clothing are not allowed. It’s recommended to wear comfortable clothing that respects these rules to avoid being denied entry.

Yes, the skip-the-line entry tickets to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel are included in the price. If you’d like to combine this experience with another guided tour (like the Colosseum or a golf cart tour), we can arrange a custom combined tour upon request.

The entire tour takes place indoors, so it operates rain or shine. Just bring a small umbrella for the short walk from the meeting point to the museum entrance if needed.

Large bags, luggage, and backpacks are not allowed inside the Vatican Museums for security reasons. There is a cloakroom, but we strongly recommend traveling light.

Due to high demand, especially in spring and summer, we recommend booking as far in advance as possible to ensure availability.

Our private tour with Isabella was excellent. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about the Vatican museums. She answered our questions in ways that made complex information easy for non-experts to understand. Her warm personality and sense of humor made the tour even better.
